The Archimedean Amphibian is a submersible amphibious vehicle which works on the principle of conveyor screw propulsion.It is a mulit-terrain vehicle which can work on grass, snow, ice, marsh, pavement, sand and concrete.It even works on and under water which enables it to explore any part of the world.
The vehicle is propelled by two Archimedean screws placed on either side of it.It can be manouvered using differential turning. It uses a gear change mechanism to change its rpm on land and in water. Its depth underwater is varied using a bellow mechanism actuated using a worm-wheel. It can go in inaccessible areas like marshy lands where no other vehicle can go. It is immensely useful for military purposes and for surveillance. It enables emergency evacuation in inaccessible areas.
