At the end of the day it'll be your ingenuity pitted against the best of the rest. Dare to be the champion? Care to beat the rest? Chemical X is the litmus test.
The preliminary round will have a set of 25 questions. Participants will be tested mostly on their knowledge of chemistry related to inorganic analysis. Few questions will be on the lines of 'How things work'.This round will include few video questions where clips of particular reactions will be shown, and you have to answer questions about those reactions. Each team can have a maximum of 2 members.
The final round will be the 'hands on' part of the event. Teams which qualify for this round will be shown prepared coloured solutions in test tubes. The main objective of teams would be to synthesise compounds which match the colours of the sample solutions to closest possible extent. This round will last one hour. Teams will compete to reproduce all the given colours in the shortest possible time. 8 teams will compete in the final round.
