Entrepreneurship

Lecture Series

Introduction

“There are some stories which make sense to me. They tell me what I wanna be!!”

The dictionary defines the word influence as follows: ''the capacity or power of persons or things to be a compelling force on or produce effects on the actions, behavior, opinions, etc., of others''. As has been observed through ages, most successful men have benefited from the influence of stalwarts in their respective chosen fields. Shaastra has, in the past, served as a means to facilitate interaction between the haves and the wannabes.

Continuing with the same tradition, the Entrepreneur Lecture Series would consist of some of the most inspiring stories told by the best from the world of entrepreneurship. Succeeding in business world requires the right skill set and the right mindset. This session tackles both, leaving attendees with big picture thinking and practical tools they can start using right away. The lectures propose to shed light on several key issues involved with setting up and running an enterprise like funding, business development, organization, operations, marketing, competition, intellectual property rights etc.

The series has, previously, played host to magnates like Raju Venkatraman from ICICI Onesource, Dr Gopichand Katragadda from GE, Suhas Gopinath who is believed to have been the youngest entrepreneur among several others. Also, the concluding panel discussions have been helpful in gaining insights into different aspects of entrepreneurship like its relevance to technology, ideal age for entrepreneurs, government's role etc.

Event Format

The series this year would be concluded by a panel discussion with eminent personalities putting forth their points of view on a contemporary burning topic:

"The Relevance of Intellectual Property Rights Protection".

Entry is open to everyone.

Keep watching this space for the speakers who are going to be there with you during Shaastra 2008.
