And much more!

Sparsh
The Touch of Shaastra

Sparsh Chennai schedule is up. Please go through the 'Sparsh Chennai' section below

Shaastra Sparsh is one of the many new initiatives taken up by the Shaastra team in the Golden Jubilee year of IIT Madras. Sparsh, as the name suggests, is an effort to bring Shaastra closer to your home to enable budding engineers in the locality to take part in the competitions without even having to travel to Chennai. Through Sparsh, Shaastra attempts to reach out and conduct various competitions and workshops in your locality. However, this isn't an attempt to discourage students from coming to Shaastra. It has always and will continue to welcome everyone!

In its inaugural year, Sparsh will be conducted in Hyderabad and Chennai for students in respective cities along the lines of Shaastra itself, albeit on a smaller scale. It will have competitions such as Robotics, Contraptions, Rubik's cube workshop and a few unwind events, all of which will serve as a prelude to the scaled up events at Shaastra. Sparsh Robotics and Contraptions will serve as a preliminary round for the corresponding events in Shaastra. Selected teams in these two events will automatically get through the elimination round of the corresponding events in Shaastra. Apart from a new opportunity that Sparsh provides, there are attractive prizes to be won as well.

No other teams from Hyderabad or Chennai will be allowed to participate in Contraptions and Robotics "Emergency Exit" at Shaastra 2008. Only teams qualifying through Sparsh, as per policy no. 2, will be allowed to participate. Please refer to the Sparsh Policy Document for the detailed rules and regulations.

Sparsh is an effort by the Shaastra team to reach out to everyone and build a bigger and better Shaastra. And we shall continue down that path with all our energy and enthusiasm.

See you in Hyderabad and Chennai!

Cheers,
Shaastra Core Team.
