about gripping mechanism

Subject: about gripping mechanism
1. I want to know that the gripping mechanism should be completely hand made or we can purchase the parts of the gripping device frm market and then design a gripper which is electrically controlled by diff. mechanisms?

2.one more question is that we r ussing only 2 links then can we qualify the participation conditions of the event?
