Subject: about the link
In the problem statement it has been mentioned that a link is a rigid body which has 2 or more pairing elements..... if i just use a set of rack and pinion 2 keep 2 links intact which even helps in their relative motion vil they be considered as links??

if your mechanism satisfies the criterion for links(mentioned in the prob statement) then it is considered as link.
