nothing is mentioned abt  it`s registration nd  wht`s the process to join it

There is no pre-registration for this event. You just turn up at the preliminary round with a team of at most three. And the teams need not be the same on all four days because the four days are independent of each other.

but the user portal says event regstrn closes on 2008-09-08 00:00:00......is it ok if we register atleast now?

There is no registration at all. It is a completely on the spot event and you need not register anywhere, neither online nor at the hospitality desk during Shaastra 08. Just come to the prelims venue on time for the starting of the prelims session and participate.
