Introduction
Who said engineers don't have a sense of humour? We are making a Bat-mobile under the name of recession car! To back it up, we will make it work as a car or as a bike according the need. Jokes apart, we are trying to construct the car and assemble it during Shaastra. We call it the "Shaastra Car". |

Presenting Shaastracar, an initiative this Shaastra, where we battle it out to design and manufacture a car in-campus. What's more, each and every sound from a pin drop to vroom of the engine, every drawing from a rough sketch to a CAD drawing; is open for all to see/hear/taste/smell/touch and comment!
We invite you this Shaastra from Day 1, till the last day to witness the process of creating something from nothing, an attempt of using something it was not meant for, an effort to transmute idea to reality, an endeavour of engineering the impossible!

What is Shaastra Car?
It is an initiative from this year onwards,where we take upon ourselves the task of making a car during 4 days of Shaastra.This time we are making a car-bike hybrid (Nathan Crowley may call it "BAT-MOBILE").Watch out for the 3rd day to see Batman in action,here at Shaastra'09.
How can I participate in Shaastra Car?
Being a demonstration,you cannot directly participate in the event.However, everyone can view our progress during one hour sessions each in the morning and in the evening on all four days.
So,what's the BIG DEAL?
Shaastra Car is our low cost initiative to make a poor man feel like the Batman.
The "Batmobile" cost many millions of dollars in research, development and fabrication for Nathan Crowley and his team.
But "Shaastra Car" costs only a few hundreds of dollars for the Shaastra Car Team.
