About the Event
The Possible's slow fuse is lit by the Imagination. - Emily Dickinson
Writers and fans of Science Fiction would agree vehemently with this quote. Because through the ages, Science Fiction has involved more than just words - Science Fiction has been a genre of literature that has inspired visionaries to dare to think beyond the accepted laws of nature. It has been a driving force that has propelled several discoveries and the eerily prophetic quality of several works of Science Fiction has often left the world gaping in wonder.
At the Online Science Fiction Writing competition at Shaastra 2009, you get an opportunity to endeavour to push the frontiers of the possible. With three categories, this event has something for everyone's literary tastes.
Moreover, we would like to announce with immense pride that one of the categories in this event shall be judged by the legendary Hugo award nominee Cory Doctorow and that the other two categories will be judged by the brilliant Samit Basu.
