How Things Work

How Things Work

htw_Introduction

Total prize money worth Rs 16,000 to be won !!!

Douglas Adams didn't know the question, nor did Deep Thought, but ladies and gentlemen, we have come close to it.  By making a simple approximation we have the Ultimate Question for you

HOW THINGS WORK?

The answer may not be 42, but if anything came close to the very spirit of the human race, this is IT.

This Shaastra "How Things Work" is back again with a bigger and tougher edition to give you all the ultimate platform to put those grey cells to work. One of the most popular events at Shaastra, How Things Works aims to pit participants' minds against each other in order to come up with explanations for some of the most bizzare phenomenon on Earth, be it exploding water or failing jets. And not just any explanation, but the one that according to Dr. Gregory House is "right because it fits". As for those of you who fear this is out of your league, worry not. Trust us when we say that all you need for this year's HTW is some high school science, a bit of engineering basics, some common sense and a dash of scientific intuition. So go dust off all those old science books and gear up for the chance to answer mankind's ultimate question.

htw_FAQ

Q: Do all team members need to be from the same college?
A: No. The team members can be from any college, so long as there are three or less members per team.

Q: Can I participate as a single member team?
A: While it isn't against the rules, we would advice against this. As a team the chances of knowing answers to more     questions is higher.

Q: Do I need to be a genius to do well?
A: Like we said, all you need is high school science, some basic engineering knowledge, common sense and a sprinkling of scientific intuition. Being a genius is not a pre-requisite for this event.

Q: Does this event involve some registration?
A: No. The event is completely on the spot.

Q: What do I need to bring to the event?
A: Apart from the four things we feel all participants need to have (see above), bring along a pen for writing the             preliminary round.
