C-Hull
Nature has been engineered to perfection. Man has always tried to come closer to, and replicate nature. Seagulls have perfected the art of low altitude flying efficiently by using ground effect.
Like many nature-inspired innovations, we at IITM wish to replicate this aspect of the seagulls' flight by building C-Hull, a Power Augmented Ram Wing In Ground effect vehicle (PARWIG).
C-Hull is designed like an aircraft with special
wing characteristics to effectively utilise
ground effect, flying just above the water
surface, about 10% of its wing span, quite like
a hovercraft. Just that it will not be able to
generate any static lift.
