Did you ever pull the trigger of a smoke bomb to frighten your high school bullies?? Or did it so happen that you messed up your mom's favorite aquarium trying to grow a chemical garden just for the fun of it and got punished for the same??

Chemical X is the event designed for all those chem freaks out there with penchant for weird chemical reactions like making colored fire out of kitchen chemicals, playing around with a chromium volcano,pampering yourselves with colorful borax snowflakes and so on and so forth.....All you need is a partner who shares similar passion for eclectic stuff like this....Put on your thinking hats to crack prelims in the format of 'How Things Work'. Once in finals,we give you a rich hands-on experience wherein you try out real spectacles of chemistry!!!!! This Shaastra, Chemical X is going to be more diverse and relevant to various disciplines of engineering preserving the sanctity of chemistry all the more....Gear up to indulge yourself in a dazzling hands-on experience.....

ChemicalX is held in two stages that test you both on your Chemistry theory and practical potential. Its a 2-day event that invites participation from teams of 1 or 2. Registration is done on the spot.

Preliminary Round
 
•Prelims is held in the pattern of "How Things Work" wherein the elementary Chemistry knowledge of the contestants is tested.
•Based on the performance in this round,teams are shortlisted for mains.

Main Round

•It is the ultimate practical round held in the Chemistry lab.
•Tests your skill at handling chemicals provided to you.
•It involves synthesisng the desired end product following a trail of clues that lead to it.

ChemicalX_Rules and Regulations


  • Each team can have a maximum of 2 members.

  • The chemicals required to make the colored compounds will be provided. Teams will use only the chemicals which we provide. You will not be permitted to bring any substances from outside.
  • Teams entering the final round will be expected to write a short note on what you have done to maintain transparency.

  • Do we have to bring any lab equipment or chemicals for this event?
        
          No, teams are not required to bring any lab equipment or chemicals for this event. Everything necessary 
          to complete the final round will be provided by us.

  • Do we need to bring anything to maintain our safety while competing in the lab?
         
          No, we will provide lab coats and protective goggles to ensure your safety while in the lab.

  • Where do we register for this event ?
         
          Registrations will be done on the spot. So all you have to do is turn up for this event with your teammate.

  • What is the team capacity?
         
          The number of members in a team can't exceed 2.
