Feel the pulse, feel the heat.
The heart throbs at every beat.
Presenting the mother of all robotics competitions in the nation, the above lines capture the essence of the challenge that never fails to get adrenalin pumping and your pulse racing at every Shaastra.
Welcome to Robotics at Shaastra 2010!
There's never a dull moment through the course of the event. How can there be?! With over 500 teams from all over the nation waging pitched battles for the coveted title of the Shaastra Robotics winner, it is sheer grit and grandeur. Always a crowd puller by virtue of its exciting and innovative nature, you cannot afford to miss this event at any rate!
Prepare with grit, and glory is in the pipeline for you. Teams will strive to prove their designing, coding, fabrication and execution skills. With the zenith of competition being raised every year, only the best will get a chance to prove their fire within. The key to crack this tough nut is the sublte combination of team work and originality, and those who make the cut has never found any reason to regret it. Robotics at Shaastra has always brought out new and innovative designs into the limelight, and has accosted this with a handsome cash prize as well.
But Robotics is not all fun and games, its about putting engineering into real actions. Thus we have problem statements that are more complex and simulates real life situations. Now, it is down to see who holds the nerves until the end along with the best design, the best coding and simulation.
The future awaits you. Create it.
The 'Castle of Fortune' has been breached and you have just entered. You have travelled a long way for the Key. But you are not alone. There are enemies, traps and your own weakness to overcome. Only then can you escape and more importantly survive. As the old druid had advised "Time is everything". Your "vision" is lost. All that is left is sense of touch. With these senses, you have to reach the 'Room of Secrets'. All this way you will be assisted by the third eye, a vision that would guide you. In the 'Room of Secrets' lies the Key. As the
key is displaced your presence is no longer a secret.
All doors will open and dangerous time puzzles would be unleashed. Entering a wrong pathway would keep you trapped, wandering in time and make your escape even more difficult. As if this was not enough your constant companion the third
eye is lost. But with the powers acquired from the druid a cryptic magical mantra would appear. Deciphering the mantra can give you a chance to survive. Having said so, the fact remains that only one of you would survive.
It’s either glory or nothing.

1. The event is open to all colleges in India and abroad. There is no restriction on the number of teams from any given college. Also, a team might consist of students from different colleges.
2. The maximum number of participants to a team is four for each of these three problem statements. A person involved in one of the problem statements can be involved in the other two also unless he/she is a bot operator. This is because the events will be held somewhat simultaneously and his/her presence in both the competitions cannot be ensured from our side.
3. Teams must be prepared to send a team description paper (TDP) and/or video/stills at least three to four weeks prior to the competition. More details about this will be available soon.
4. The TDPs will be used to select the participants for the contests. You will be allowed to register once you have been selected through the TDPs.
5. Please refer to the Shaastra Certificate Policy for information regarding certificates.
6. IMPORTANT: Some of the rules may be clarified, corrected or added through FAQs. So please keep checking the FAQ section. This section would be regularly updated to answer all possible queries of teams. The final rulebook would consider all changes made through FAQs.
The selection to this event would include submission of a TDP (team description paper) by the teams containing the team particulars, mechanism, strategy, structural details and other technical details. It needs to be submitted by the given dead line which would be 3 or 4 weeks before the event.
Teams would be asked to send the drawings of their robots and also pictures showing their progress until that point of time.
The template for the TDP’s will be shortly up on the website.
The rules and regulations to be followed in writing a team description paper (format and other considerations) will be given in the 'Rules and Regulations' section of 'Robotics' on the website.
The Code will be generated sing the following file.
This is provided to you for practice.
