Introduction
My Spirit of Engineering (SoE) moment
Vinay says, 'SoE moments can be defined as those instances involving engineering brilliance which change one's perspective completely. For me, it was Dr. Peeush Bishnoi's lecture on energy sector scenario and it's future. It was the first time I was attending a lecture at Shaastra, and the way it began, I could only listen and think of the gravity of the situation at hand. The lecture caught me in oblivion with respect to all other things. I realized that I knew so little about the things that are so crucial in today's world. Sitting in an AC auditorium and realizing that there is a severe energy crisis in store for us in the near future was an irony, but nevertheless it was a fact. The lecture made me think and realize that energy is the basis for all other sectors. It also had showcased efforts that are, and need to go in to bring in the concept of energy security. The numbers were the icing on the cake and drove the point home in the most convincing fashion. That, definitely was the SoE moment of my life. To fathom, and understand the scope of energy sector and the issues associated with it is something that is crucial to every human being now. Shaastra, played the role of a wonderful platform in my case.'(This is a randomly chosen article. You can add your SoE moment too, if you login. Register here if you haven't already!)
